Let's Go UTAH!

I know you are all excited to see the craziness that went on in the MUSS at the Utah game... but you'll have to hold your horses for a minute while I catch up to that point!
So, Andrew and I went to the Ogden Raptors game with my mom and John a few weeks ago. It was a lot of fun! Unfortunately we were seated right next to a guy who may have needed to purchase a few seats for himself and my mom was the lucky one that got to sit by him.... Way to take one for the team Mom! Don't worry though... it wasn't for the whole game. After a while people started to leave (Raptors fans apparently don't like to stay the whole game even if we are winning) and we moved down closer to the field. When we moved we ended up sitting right behind the mom of one of the players on the other team and Andrew was asked if he was the "annoying guy who is doin' all the screaming... No, I'm serious. Because if you are, I'm gonna move!" Hmm.... attitude adjustment needed there, but maybe she was just upset because her son was losing and Andrew had yelled at him a few times while up to bat (but he was doing that to everyone). After some consideration we all decided she could move if she wanted and yelled anyway! She never did move.

Ok, here's the random picture in the midst of all the exciting ones. The other day at work, Andrew got a Christmas present (apparently they had leftovers... My thoughts "...and you just found the leftovers? It's August!"...lol) Anyway, the present was two pens... I took the one I wanted and Andrew was left with the one I didn't like. Unfortunately for him, the pen he got wasn't working so, of course, he took it apart to see if he could fix it. This picture is him showing me that it works if he blows into it... Well good! Now all he has to do is blow into his pen cartridge every time he wants to write! Sounds flawless! Don't worry, he got a new cartridge from work to make up for the broken-8-month-old Christmas present that he got!
And now for the exciting part!
Here is Andrew all ready to go to school before the game... It was his first football game in a long time because he was on his mission the past few seasons and he had to come late because he has a class on Thursday nights... Sadness! But he was still there for the exciting parts of the game, so it's ok! Good thing too! Once he got there I had my own little commentator and I actually knew what was going on! Annie and I were grateful for the explanations of what all the "illegal things" that were happening when the flags got thrown!
Here's our MUSS gang... you have to look at both pictures though because we made the people on the ends take them. Thanks Darcee and Josh! We all had a lot of fun! As I'm sure you can see from the pictures...

And here is the wonderful team that made our blood pressure fluctuate lots during the game... Don't worry though, Annie and I taught them the fundamentals of football while they were playing and it payed off!
At one point during the game Swoop (our mascot) was lifted by the students all the way up to the top of the stadium. I didn't get my camera out in time to get a picture of that, but Andrew got to touch his foot as he was going by... Pretty much an amazing experience!
And yes... We won! In overtime... the game was crazy!! Luckily they know how to step up when it really counts!
Anyway, those are the fun times we've been having recently... well, some of them! I know the post is long and there are lots of pictures, but I figure most people just get on and look at the pictures and for those of you who actually read the blog, I hope you were, at least, slightly entertained! We've got a super fun weekend coming up... golf, helping people remove wallpaper from their new house (if you want to see what I'm talking about, go check out Brooke and Matt Smith's blog!), and LION KING... so stay tuned for the details from all of that! So excited!

Some of Andrew's new favorite things...

So, Andrew and I have been catching up on some of our TV shows online and there are a few commercials that tend to come up pretty regularly... Andrew laughs hysterically at the Geico one with the therapist and loves to sing along to the Friskies commercial. I think my favorite part of last week was when we when the Friskies commercial came on the other day and he freaked out, got all giddy and started dancing. It was awesome! I couldn't figure out how to put all of these things on this same post so you'll have to click on the links that I conveniently placed on our blog so that you could share in the joy!

You have to watch the whole things... they're only like a minute long... the best parts are the "Friskies feed the senses" part and the tissue part in the Geico one... Personally I like the Geico commercial with the pig that screams "Wee" out the window but this one is pretty funny too...

Catching Up...

It's been a while since we've blogged so I figured we better catch up on all of the fun times we've had to finish out our first summer as a married couple.
A few weeks ago we went to the Condie family reunion up at Donut Falls and then to Park City. We had breakfast before the hike and then we hiked up to the falls. Andrew and Danika had fun playing down by the water before we started the hike.

Andrew walked up to the top of the falls with Sheila and waved to us on his way back down while the rest of us stood at the bottom of the falls and watched.Brooke and Danika had fun waiting with us at the bottom and watching people walk up to the top. They look so cute!
Andrew and I found a couple picture perfect spots on the way back down next to the water. The hike was so pretty and lots of fun.

Andrew thought that Dianne and I were having a hard time making it down the hill so he decided that he would carry us down. How thoughtful!

And when we got back down to our cars, this is what we found... Hopefully they're just there to visit right?! Apparently there was a fire not too far from where we were hiking. Good thing it was a small one!
While we were waiting for everyone to get back down Danika had some fun playing around in the fire truck. She is such a cutie!
Andrew couldn't let Danika have all the fun so he made sure he got a turn to sit in the fire truck too!
After the hike we went up to Park City and had fun walking around and shopping.

Two weeks ago I officially graduated from the U, so Andrew and I went out to celebrate. We went to Boondock's and spent the night bowling, hitting at the batting cages, and playing at the arcade. I don't really know how we only ended up getting one semi-good picture from the whole night but can't you tell we're having lots of fun?!
Last weekend we went down to Lake Powell with a bunch of family and friends. Andrew and I went down a day early with Nick, Kandi, and Zoey and ended up not being able to get on the houseboat when we were supposed to and stayed at a hotel in Kanab. Nick and Andrew made a fort for Zoey to play in (I think they had more fun than she did with it). It was lots of fun spending time with Nick and Kandi before the rest of the gang got down there and then we stayed another day in Kanab before we went down to the lake.
Here she is climbing into the fort. She's obviously having a lot of fun playing in it!
Probably the best part of the drive... ok, one of the best parts of the drive... There are fake cops in Kanab! We had to stop to see a few of them so we could get a good picture of them. You've got to love the Hitler mustache on this one.
Finally! We made it down to the lake and got a great spot right on the "Sand Hill." If you look really close in this picture you can see the white dot at the top of the hill... that's Andrew up there with Nick.
Andrew, Skyler, Nicole, and I built a turtle on the beach. It made it through most of the trip until Trey decided he wanted to "destroy the turtle." Poor little guy didn't stand a chance.
There were some rocks on the side of our beach that we climbed up and jumped off into the water.
It took some convincing but I finally jumped off. Kandi got some great action shots of us jumping off.
Andrew and I climbed up to the top of Sand Hill. I thought I was going to die on the way up, good thing I had Andrew and Trey to help me make it up.
The view was so pretty from the top of the hill! Too bad we didn't have someone with us up there to take pictures for us. You can kind of tell what it looked like though.
Well, now you're caught up on our adventures up to now. We had a great first summer together. Too bad it's over now. Andrew has to start school again on Monday and we're back to real life. I am still not convinced that I won't be bored without homework while Andrew's in school and I'm not. I guess I'll have to find some other stuff to occupy my time! If anyone has some suggestions, let me know!

Weekend Fun in California

We got to go to California for the weekend last week and spend some time with my family. We spent the first night there hanging out in the pool and playing with the cousins. Andrew fit right in and was the first to get on Nicole's shoulders to play a game of chicken. A little backwards? I thought so too but Nicole had fun helping Andrew take out the other teams.

Andrew started doing tricks into the pool and, of course, the other kids started showing off their cool tricks too.
The group for the weekend. Steven, Gary, Sara, Andrew, Brian, Nicole, and mom. We had a blast and Brian and Steven had a lot of fun getting to know Andrew since they had never met him.
The next day we headed to San Jose to go to my Great Grandma's 95th birthday party. We had fun reading and talking on the 3 hour drive to the house. Andrew and I were really excited about heading out... or something like that.
It was a lot of fun getting to see so much family at the party. The best part was that none of them knew we were coming so we got to surprise everyone when we got there. I thought it was great because I got to see family that I hadn't seen for years and I loved getting to introduce Andrew to everyone.
Here is my Great Grandma Lorraine with all of her great grandchildren -- Brian, Steven, Nicole, Sara, Amanda, Grandma, Henry (back to front). It was fun to see the difference between her and the youngest great grandchild. 95 years and 9 months!
My grandma had to go through a photo shoot with all of the family there. Luckily it looks like she was still enjoying it at this point.
It was a lot of fun to get to see her open all of her presents and give us some entertainment by trying on some of the things that she got.
Here are all of the cousins and their spouses. Brian, Christina, Henry, Barry, Sara, Andrew, Mike, Jackie, Steven, Gary, Debbie, Nicole (we took like 50 pictures and this was the best we could get...)
On the car ride home we stopped and got some snacks. Andrew showed everyone his talent of unwrapping a starburst in his mouth and, of course, we all had to try it. It only took us a few minutes to realize how talented Andrew really was since none of us could do it. Nicole and Steven got close after practicing for a while but couldn't ever get it completely unwrapped.
That night, after we got home, Andrew and I got the family stuck on Family Feud. It was great hearing everyone laugh and play the game with us. We had a great weekend and the next morning had to head back to Utah. It was a quick trip but it was a lot of fun and hopefully it won't be too many years before we get to see them all again!

Well the first annual Jennings family reunion has officially come and gone, and let me tell you, it was historic! Naturally after all of the kids have gotten married and moved out, it is time to start having a family reunion once a year to bring everyone together! It was only fitting that the reunion started out with a bunch of food! Best part of the meal, well the desserts of course. However check out the many cuts of meat brought by one and all...After the meal, which I can only assume was intentionally set up this way so that I would be full and slow and not up to my full potential, we played the game show called Minute to Win it! For those who don't know this game, it is a show in which you have to complete several small tasks with random objects, in one minute (60 seconds)! Things such as shooting 6 empty pop cans off, not just down, but off the table using only rubber bands from about 6 feet away! Or how about moving three cookies (oreos) from your forehead down and into your mouth using nothing but facial muscles! Or how about shaking 8 ping pong balls out of a kleenex box tied to your waist! Or how about keeping 3 balloons in the air. Or how about .... Well you get the idea! It was such a blast and definitely made for some really good pictures! A huge thanks to my sister Hilary for setting it all up for us! Lots of work, and lots of fun!
