Life is Great!

It has been a while since I posted- again- but the cord to put pictures on my computer has been broken and I feel like our posts are a lot more exciting when we have pictures!! Let's be honest, some things just can't be explained with words! Luckily, my amazing husband knows how to fix things and he got it to work today! Thanks honey!
So, here is some of what we have been up to!
We washed our washing machine... pretty gross to start out with! I guess that is what happens over the years, kind of disgusting when you are renting and the gunk doesn't come from you though! It looks much better now!

I got Andrew a dart board for Christmas. It is pretty fun to play and Andrew is getting pretty good! Look at the aim he had with these two darts! Wow!!

The week before Christmas we got to go to Disneyland! SO MUCH FUN! It was so nice to be able to get away with just the two of us and not to have to worry about anything! We had a blast! And like I said, some things are just explained better with pictures!
In line for Midway Mania... Love that ride! Andrew kicked my booty!

Tower of Terror. We are so cool!

I have been to Disneyland a LOT and this is the first time I had ever seen the castle decked out for Christmas! So pretty!
In March our niece Lana turned 8! We have a fun tradition with the kids and take each of them out for a special date when they turn 8! We even let them decide what they want to do! Lana wanted to go bowling and get ice cream so we headed out to Boondocks and went bowling and played arcade games and then drove around town looking for an ice cream place that was open! We ended up at Cold Stone and it was delicious! Lana was such a cute date and we had a BLAST taking her out! She really wanted to stay out until midnight and it was so cute because every 20 minutes or so she would ask if it was close to midnight yet. It was so cute! Thanks for the date, Lana! We love you! Big thanks to Hil and Bill for letting us steal their cute girl for a night!

In May, one of our other nieces, McKenzie, turned 8 and we got to take her out too! For her date she wanted to go to Classic Fun Center! Unfortunately we got there pretty late and only had time for a little skating so after that we went to get frozen yogurt (YUM!) and then went to Boondocks and played laser tag! It was McKenzie's first time playing and she was SO excited and had a lot of fun! We kept her out way too late but it was a ton of fun! Thanks for the date, Kenz! We love you! Thanks Tai and Mike for letting us take her out! We loved it!

Also in May, one of my best friends ever graduated with her Master's Degree from the University of Utah! Congrats Annie! We are so excited for you!
For our 2nd anniversary on the 7th, I surprised Andrew with tickets to one of the Jazz vs Spurs playoff games! I was pretty impressed by the excitement in the arena and must say that the game did help me with my love of the Jazz... a little! Too bad we lost! Oh well! :)

This is how excited Andrew was!

In May we went on another trip to........ Disneyland! Apparently we love that place! It is the happiest place on earth, so it was great to be able to go twice in such a short amount of time! This time we got to go with Andrew's sister, Tai, and her family and Andrew's parents! Get the 10 of us together and you get a lot of crazy fun! (and a lot of crazy bird calls being yelled across the park! We were part of the entertainment for everyone else there! Man, I love those guys!) We got to stay in the Grand Californian thanks to Tai and Mike! That place is amazing! If you ever get the chance to stay there... Do it! It totally reminded me of the castle in Beauty and the Beast! a.m.a.z.i.n.g! 7 days in Cali with perfect weather and 6 days in Disneyland. Doesn't get much better than that! Andrew and I are definitely living the life right now! There were so many great moments on this trip! Some of my favorites included standing in line for Midway Mania singing "If you're happy and you know it..." and a bunch of people in the line singing along with us (HAHA!), getting to ride a ton of rides with the kids, getting to look at all of the funny pictures from the rides, getting told by an Aussie that "back home we shoot things that sound like that" while walking through the park making our bird calls to find each other, running into Emily and Cameron randomly at the park and finding out Em is pregnant (Congrats!!!), and breaking down half of the rides at the park! :) We also had a fun experience when we were watching Turtle Talk with Crush! He picked Isaak out of the crowd of kids to talk to and this was part of the conversation:
Crush: ...where do you come from?
Isaak: Arizona! (um... what?! Pretty sure we are all from Utah! All of the adults in our group started laughing hysterically and we got a lot of weird looks because people weren't really sure what was so funny about us being from Arizona!)
After we were finished watching the show someone asked Isaak where he was from again and he said, "Utah. I was tricking him!" hahaha! Oh kids! They are so funny sometimes!
Anyway, we had a great trip! Thanks Tai and Mike for inviting us! We had so much fun and will remember that trip forever! Y'all are amazing! :)
Waiting in line for Soarin' over California... it broke down shortly after this picture was taken!

We're Alive!

I miss the blogging world! Crazy how busy life gets sometimes and I don't even think about it, then some lonely Monday night when Andrew is at school and I am COMPLETELY bored, I remember to think about it!
Just a little catch up on our lives since September...
  • I'm blonde again.
  • We had a great Halloween handing out candy at my dad's house.
  • We ate LOTS of food on Thanksgiving!
  • Andrew finished another semester of school and now only has 3 left until he gets his bachelor's... Light at the end of the tunnel!... Kind of!
  • We went to Disneyland the week before Christmas! SO FUN! I will post pictures at some point!
  • We had a great Christmas break and had lots of time to spend together with breaks from school and some days off of work!
  • Andrew started school again (that means he only has 2 semesters left, right?!)
  • I got a new job. I am now watching twins up in the Park City area. They are super cute and a lot of fun! Does make me hope that I don't ever have twins though! :) (Don't worry... I still watch my other cute little girl, too! I'm pretty sure I'll be watching her for as long as her mom & dad will let me!)
  • I have been trying a lot of random, fun recipes from Pinterest! Some work out, some are gross... but it is still fun to try them out!
That's really all we've been up to! Now that school is back in session and our work schedules are back to normal, that is all we do! These are great times though! We love having so much time to spend together and we are still loving our apartment!

On a heavier note, my Grandma was diagnosed with cervical cancer. (What a year of cancer for our family... 2012 is going to be a better year, we hope!) She is going through treatments now and we are praying for the best! We love you, Grandma!!!

That's all for now! Maybe I will post some more highlights in another 4 months... maybe sooner! :)

10 years ago today I was getting ready to go to school, I was in 8th grade, I heard my mom call for us in her room and when I went in, I remember seeing the first plane in the tower and thinking "what is going on?" Seconds after I thought that, the second plane hit. I will never forget that moment.

I am so grateful for the men and women who have lost their lives to protect our freedom. And for all those who serve and continue to do so, thank you!

Went to San Diego and went parasailing!

These guys were there, too!

We went to the San Diego Temple... So pretty!!
We hung out at the beach!

We went to the Sugarland concert (1 week after the Indiana State fair incident!) This was probably the best concert I've ever been to! They are amazing! Sara Bareilles was their opening act and she was pretty incredible too!

Sara and Jeremy came, too! They have been at all the concerts we went to this summer! It has been way fun to have excuses to see them!
Annie was there, too! Pretty much LOVE hanging out with this girl! We are so glad she got to come to the awesome concert with us and some of her camp friends from this summer!

{AMAZING!!!!}

We did this cool puzzle! I've never seen a puzzle stick together so well! It was pretty fun!
UTAH FOOTBALL!!!!! The season started Sept 1 and it was AWESOME! Our team needs to step it up for the future games but at least we won and it was so fun to get to go watch the Utes again!

{We were really excited about it!}
Andrew and I sat outside and watched some way cool lightning storms a few weeks ago! It was way cool! We couldn't get very good pictures but this picture was taken at like 10:00 pm... the lightning was lighting up the whole sky!
We also moved!! But I don't have any pictures of that! Our new place is amazing! We are in a basement apartment and the people upstairs are great! We've been having a lot of fun here so far and can't wait to be here for the year!

And that is what we have been up to! It's been an awesome summer! Now Andrew is back in school (he only had a 2 week break after summer school so not much has changed there!) and I am back at work! Not much is new with us! Just loving life and having a great time getting through school! One day Andrew will be finished (at least that's what I keep telling myself!)
